Little Wood

You'll find yourself walking through proper woodland the moment you enter Little Wood near Newent - the kind of place where the canopy gets thick enough that you lose track of time. It's a modest forest by most standards, nothing vast, but there's something about the density of trees and the quiet that makes it feel larger than it actually is.

The main draw here is straightforward: walking. Trails wind through the trees, and you're far enough from the main road to forget Newent exists. Winter's actually decent here because the leaf cover means you won't get soaked through quite as quickly as you would in open fields.

It won't blow your mind, but it's the sort of place that restores you without demanding anything in return.
