Llyn Cadarn

Walking across the gentle moorland near Brynteg, you'll spot this small lake sitting quietly among the heather and gorse. Llyn Cadarn isn't going to knock your socks off - it's more a pleasant discovery than a destination in its own right.

Families staying at nearby parks like Glan Gors or Penrhos will find it makes for a decent leg-stretch. The walk around the water's edge takes maybe twenty minutes if you dawdle, and there's often sheep grazing the surrounding common land that'll keep younger children entertained. Keen walkers might incorporate it into a longer ramble across this quiet corner of Anglesey.

What strikes you most is the peace of the place. No car parks, no signage, just a proper slice of unspoilt Welsh countryside. The fishing looks reasonable if that's your thing, though you'd want to check locally about permits. On a clear day you get glimpses of the coast beyond, but don't come expecting dramatic mountain reflections.
