About Loch Cuaich
It won't eat up your afternoon. An hour's walk, maybe ninety minutes if you're lingering with a flask, and you've seen what there is to see. Families with younger kids might find it a bit too quiet - there's not much action, no visitor facilities that I'm aware of, just landscape and peace. Walkers and fishing types will appreciate it far more, especially those after a gentle break from the bigger glens around here.
Since it's practically on the doorstep of Newtonmore, it works well as a morning outing if you're based at Invernahavon Caravan Park or Laggan Glamping. Both are within striking distance and geared up for proper Highland holidays. Loch Cuaich isn't the showstopper - that would be some of the larger lochs further up - but it's free, it's real, and it beats sitting in the caravan waiting for the midges to back off.
