From Lower Cliff, you'll look out over the Trent Valley towards Rugeley and beyond, with the cooling towers of the old power station marking the horizon. It's not the most dramatic viewpoint you'll find, but there's something satisfying about the gentle sweep of farmland and woodland stretching into the distance.

Walkers will appreciate this as a decent stopping point rather than a destination in itself. The view is best in clear weather - on grey days you're essentially staring at mist. Families might find it a bit underwhelming compared to some of Chase's more exciting spots, though it's easily accessible and won't tire out smaller legs.

What makes Lower Cliff work is its convenience if you're staying at one of the nearby holiday parks like Cannock Chase Camping or Chase Glamping Pods. It's a pleasant morning stroll from most of the local sites, and you can easily combine it with a longer walk through the forest. The area is free to access and open all year, though early morning offers the clearest views before the haze sets in. Worth the short detour if you're exploring the Chase, but don't go miles out of your way for it.
