The woodland around Warwick doesn't shout about itself, but Manor Wood is the sort of place that rewards a quiet morning walk. Ancient trees, proper woodland floor underfoot, and enough space to actually hear yourself think - it's proper forest rather than managed park. You're looking at mixed woodland with mature oaks and beeches, the kind of canopy that keeps things cool even on warm days.

This works best for walkers wanting something low-key near Warwick town itself. If you've got kids, an hour here won't break them, though don't expect playgrounds or marked trails - it's genuinely wild in places. History buffs might appreciate that you're walking through landscape that's been wooded for centuries, though there's nothing obvious to see or do beyond walking.

It's free, naturally, and there's no entrance lodge or charge. Go early or late to avoid crowds. Worth combining with a circuit around Warwick itself rather than as a standalone outing. If you're based at Mousley House Farm just 1.8 miles away, this is an easy morning before heading into town. The other caravan parks - Warwick Racecourse and Knight's Village near the castle - are a bit further but still workable if you fancy a woodland break from castle tourism.

Don't expect facilities. Bring a map if you're not confident with navigation, as the paths aren't heavily signed. It's the sort of place you'll either find genuinely restorative or slightly dull depending on what you're after.
