Miss Grace's Lane Cave is a modest affair - a natural limestone cavern that won't take long to explore, but it's the kind of place that rewards a detour if you're walking the Forest of Dean area. The cave itself is relatively small and accessible, making it more suited to curious families than serious spelunkers. You'll get twenty minutes of poking around inside before you've seen the key formations, though the geological interest is genuine enough if you know what you're looking at. The real draw is the location. It sits well within striking distance of Forest and Wye Valley Caravan and Camping Site, just 3.8 miles away, and makes a natural companion to other woodland walks in the region. Bring a torch - the light from the entrance doesn't penetrate far, and the path underfoot can be uneven. Admission details are thin on the ground locally, so worth checking ahead before making the trip. Realistically, this works best as a stop-off rather than a standalone destination. It's the sort of thing you'll remember more fondly in retrospect than during the actual visit. Kids under ten will probably find it properly exciting; teenagers might find it a bit underwhelming.
