Mynydd Pant

Sheep dot the lower slopes as you approach this modest 282-metre peak overlooking the Conwy Valley. Mynydd Pant won't challenge serious fell walkers, but it delivers surprisingly good views for minimal effort - the kind of walk that wins over reluctant teenagers. The ascent from Llandudno Junction takes about 45 minutes on clear paths, though they can get boggy after rain.

Families staying at nearby parks like Dinarth Hall or Tan Y Bryn Glamping will find this a proper confidence-builder for younger walkers. The summit offers decent views across to Snowdonia on clear days, with Conwy Castle visible below. Nothing spectacular, mind you, but satisfying enough.

Best tackled in the morning before the heat builds up, especially with children in tow. The walk back down is gentle on the knees, and you'll be back at your caravan in time for lunch. Those staying at Aberconwy Resort or the other parks along the valley can easily combine this with a trip to Conwy itself - the castle and town walls are only twenty minutes away by car. It's free to walk, naturally, and dogs are welcome provided they're kept on leads around livestock.
