The old Wollaton colliery pumping station is where you'll find yourself when you visit Nottingham Industrial Museum - a working Victorian beam engine that still operates on steam days. It's not glamorous, but it's genuinely absorbing if you care about how things actually worked before electricity did everything for us.

The museum occupies the original engine house and tells the story of Nottinghamshire's manufacturing heritage through machinery, textiles, and mining exhibits.
