Oak Park Wood

Oak Park Wood sits quietly near Trevarrick, offering a lovely escape from the coastal crowds that pack Cornwall's beaches during peak season.

Walking the network of informal paths, you'll spot everything from bluebells carpeting the ground in spring to fungi sprouting from fallen logs in autumn. The woodland feels genuinely wild in places - not manicured like some National Trust properties but refreshingly untamed.

Families with older children who enjoy a proper ramble will get the most from this spot. The terrain isn't particularly challenging, though sturdy shoes are wise given the occasionally muddy conditions. Dog walkers clearly love it here too, judging by the well-worn tracks.

It's well worth combining with a stay at one of the nearby holiday parks like Pentewan Sands or Heligan Caravan and Camping Park.
