Osiers

The Osiers is a proper woodland walk just outside Worcester, the kind of place where you can shake off a few hours without needing a map or a plan. It's essentially a forest patch - nothing fancy, but the trees do their job well and there's genuine peace here if you time it right. Stick to the paths and you'll find yourself among mature woodland that feels genuinely removed from the town, even though Worcester's only a mile or so away.

Walkers will get the most from this one. It's not demanding terrain - the whole thing takes maybe 45 minutes to an hour depending on how meandering you fancy being - but it's pleasant enough for family groups with older kids who can manage a proper walk without constant stops. Younger children might run out of steam before you've done a full circuit, truth be told. The woodland's quiet rather than dramatic, so if you're chasing Instagram moments or dramatic vistas, you'll be disappointed.

It's free, which is always welcome, and there's no entrance fee or booking hassle. Spring and autumn are genuinely nicer here than summer when the midges can be a bit much. If you're staying at one of the nearby parks - Ketch or Worcester Glamping are very close - you could easily duck out for a morning walk without it eating into your day. It works well as a quick leg-stretch addition to a broader visit to Worcester rather than a destination in itself. Worth the detour if you're already in the area and need some green space, but don't rearrange your holiday plans for it.
