Paw Paddock - East Meon

The village green at East Meon has a rather lovely timber structure called Paw Paddock - basically a covered shelter with seating where locals bring their dogs for a proper social. It's not a destination in itself, mind you, but if you're staying at one of the nearby holiday parks - Cedar Valley is just a mile and a half away - it's a pleasant fifteen-minute walk from the village center and gives you a sense of how these little Hampshire hamlets actually work.

You won't find much here beyond the shelter itself and the village charm around it. The real appeal is the walk to get there from Petersfield, which sits about three miles south. East Meon is one of those places where the journey matters more than the arrival - chalk streams, rolling countryside, proper English village life. Dog owners will appreciate the designated space, but it's hardly worth a special trip if you're not planning to walk the wider area.

If you're based at Wallops Wood glamping (3.8 miles away) or Woodlands Camping (5.6 miles), combining a stroll to Paw Paddock with a walk along the Meon Valley makes sense. The parks themselves offer far better amenities, but this spot works as part of a larger ramble. Early morning or late afternoon keeps it quiet. Free to visit, naturally. Allow thirty minutes for the whole experience if you're not lingering over the countryside views.
