Penddol Rocks

Families with older kids will get more from it than those with toddlers in tow. It's not a five-minute stop; you need at least ninety minutes to do the walk justice and actually absorb the views rather than just tick a box. Geology enthusiasts will find it more rewarding than casual visitors.

Being just outside Builth Wells, it pairs well with the camping and glamping spots dotted nearby - Penmaenau Farm is practically on your doorstep at 0.2 miles. If you're basing yourself at Fforest Fields or Irfon River further afield, it's an easy half-hour drive for a morning out. Access appears to be free, though you'll want proper walking boots. Spring and early autumn are your best bets - less rain, better visibility.
