Pirate Adventure mini golf

Tucked inside the Sea Life Centre at Weymouth, Pirate Adventure mini golf is exactly what it sounds like - eighteen holes of daft, theming-heavy fun that'll keep under-tens entertained for a solid hour. You're putting through caves, around treasure chests, and past those rubber pirate cutouts that haven't looked menacing since about 1987. It's not subtle, and it's not trying to be.

The course itself is decent enough. Nothing too punishing, which means younger kids can actually finish without a meltdown. The pirate theming is comprehensive - they've thought about it, even if the execution is a bit tired. You get the sense this attraction has been here a fair while and nobody's bothered to refresh it, which is either charming or showing its age depending on your mood.

Worth doing if you're already at Sea Life with the family - you'll get a couple of hours out of the complex. As a dedicated trip to Weymouth specifically for mini golf, though, you'd be stretching it. Admission's bundled with Sea Life, so check their website for current prices and opening times before you head down.

If you're stopping in the area, Waterside and Chesil Beach Holiday Park sit just a few miles away and are genuinely excellent bases. Either one puts you within easy reach of Weymouth's seafront attractions, which means you can mix this with an actual beach day without it feeling forced.
