Your dog will absolutely lose its mind at Pleasant Meadow, a proper off-lead space just outside Carmarthen where they can actually run about without a lead attached. It's a straightforward affair - open grassland where dogs can do what they do best, chase balls, splash through water if there's been rain, and socialise with other dogs without you spending the afternoon shouting commands into the wind.

The meadow works brilliantly if you're based at one of the nearby caravan parks - Steffan Valley, Laugharne View, or Church House Farm are all within a couple of miles, making it easy enough for a morning jaunt or late afternoon blowout when the kids are driving you round the twist. Bring a ball or two and expect thirty minutes to an hour depending on how knackered you want your pooch when you head back.

It's free, as these things tend to be, though parking information isn't widely advertised so you might need to ring ahead or check locally in Carmarthen first. Worth doing if you've got a dog that's gone stir-crazy after a week in a caravan - they'll sleep through the evening and you'll get some peace. Non-dog owners can skip it entirely. For those with four-legged family members, it's the kind of place that makes a holiday actually possible rather than just tolerably manageable.
