Pogles’ Wood

A proper woodland walk through Pogles' Wood - named after the children's television characters - sits just outside Leyburn in the Yorkshire Dales. If you're basing yourself at either spot for a week in the Dales, Pogles' Wood is the sort of place you can slip into without planning it heavily. Go in the early morning or late afternoon to avoid any school groups that sometimes use it for visits. It's not a destination in itself, but it's worth the detour if you're already in Leyburn and want something easy underfoot.
