The fairground at Rainbow Park sits right on Hunstanton's seafront, where the beach curves away toward Old Hunstanton. It's the sort of place that feels frozen in time - dodgems, a modest funfair with rides for younger children, and the usual seaside attractions that generations of Norfolk families have dragged their kids to on wet afternoons.

If you're staying at one of the nearby holiday parks - Manor Park or Searles Leisure Resort are both within spitting distance - this is genuinely useful. Your children will get a couple of hours out of it without you needing to drive anywhere. The rides are straightforward, the setting is proper seaside, and there's enough going on to keep under-tens entertained. For adults without kids, though, it's not really a destination. The arcade games are dated, and the fairground itself lacks the polish of bigger attractions.

What works best is treating it as part of a Hunstanton day rather than the main event. Walk off fish and chips on the beach, have a spin on the dodgems if the mood takes, then head into town for ice cream. The beaches around here are excellent, and the cliffs at Old Hunstanton are worth exploring if you're staying longer.
