Roundway White Horse

You'll spot this one from miles away - a brilliant white horse carved into the chalk hillside near Devizes, impossible to miss if you're driving through Wiltshire. It's one of several white horses dotting the county, though this one's relatively recent as these things go, created in 1845. The figure measures about 53 metres long and sits on a steep slope, which makes the whole thing rather dramatic when you see it up close.

Getting a proper look means finding your way up to the viewpoint - there's a footpath that gets you reasonably close, though the approach can be muddy depending on the weather. The walk's straightforward enough for most abilities, though it's not a massive undertaking.
