Scoonie sits right on the edge of Leven, a proper links course that feels like it's been there forever - because it has, in one form or another. The fairways roll along coastal terrain with the kind of rough that'll punish a dodgy swing, and the greens demand respect. It's a 9-hole affair, so you can play a quick round or loop it twice if you've got the time and the legs for it.

Golfers will absolutely get their money's worth here. The course plays to a reasonable standard without being punishing for mid-handicappers, though it's got enough character to keep better players interested. Non-golfers in your party? They'll be watching from the clubhouse or heading into Leven proper, which is just a short walk away.

The real bonus is the location. Leven Beach Holiday Park is practically on the doorstep - less than half a mile - and Silverburn Park sits equally close, making Scoonie a cracking option if you're staying at either. Even from the caravan sites slightly further out like Woodland Gardens or Wigwam Holidays, it's an easy drive. You're looking at an hour or so for nine holes, maybe two if you're taking your time. Green fees and membership details are best checked directly with the club, as these shift seasonally. Wind can be a factor on links courses, so go in the morning if you can.
