This works brilliantly for families with children who are old enough to sit still for ninety minutes - roughly ages six upwards, though younger kids do get restless. History enthusiasts and railway buffs will spend hours examining the rolling stock and chatting to knowledgeable volunteers. If you're just after a quick ride, you'll be done in three hours including a break at Bridgnorth, but dedicated types can potter about the heritage centre and workshops all day.

The line operates weekends year-round and daily during school holidays, with special events throughout the year.
