The museum runs you through over 150 years of the club's ups and downs, from early glory days through to now, with enough memorabilia and photographs to keep even casual fans engaged for a good hour. The stadium tour itself is the real draw though. You get proper access: the dressing rooms, the tunnel where players emerge, the dugout, the press box. Standing pitch-side, looking up at the stands, gives you a real sense of the ground's scale.

Football fans will absolutely love this. Families with kids old enough to care about football get plenty out of it - there's interactive bits and the tour guides know their stuff. If you're not bothered about the sport, honestly, skip it. It won't mean much.

Timing-wise, allow three hours if you're doing both museum and tour. Tours typically run on non-match days, so check ahead before you go. The nearest town is Dronfield, which sits just south, making it an easy stop if you're camped at Fox Hagg Farm or Wyming Brook Farm - both excellent bases within a few miles. Those campsites give you a proper countryside feel while keeping Sheffield's attractions close. It's not a full day's activity on its own, but combined with a wander around Sheffield's city centre, it rounds out a decent visit.
