Shots Copse feels worlds away from the island's busy coastal strips - here it's all dappled sunlight filtering through oak and ash canopies, with the occasional crack of twigs underfoot breaking an otherwise peaceful silence.

Families staying at nearby holiday parks like The Orchards or Tapnell Farm will find this a lovely spot for a gentle woodland ramble, though don't expect marked trails or fancy facilities. The copse is essentially wild woodland where you can wander at will, making it ideal for kids who fancy a bit of den-building or nature spotting. Dog walkers absolutely love it here too.

Being so close to Yarmouth means you can easily combine a morning stroll through the trees with an afternoon exploring the town's harbour and ferry terminal.
