Standing quietly among Bridlington's streets, this working Spiritualist church offers something quite different from your typical Yorkshire coast attraction. Sunday services follow the traditional Spiritualist format - hymns, readings and demonstrations of mediumship where congregation members may receive messages from loved ones who have passed on.

The atmosphere is welcoming rather than theatrical, though obviously not everyone's cup of tea. Regular visitors tend to be genuine believers rather than curious tourists, so approach with respect if you're just having a look. Services usually run for about an hour and a half.

Families with young children will find this one a bit too sedate - stick to Bridlington's beaches and amusements instead.
