The concrete bowls and rails at St Margaret's Pastures are well-maintained and genuinely good fun if you've got a skateboard or BMX bike. It's a proper community facility rather than some polished commercial venture, which means it actually gets used and cared for. The setup includes decent transition sections and street features - enough to keep intermediate riders occupied for a solid couple of hours without feeling cramped.

This isn't the place for complete beginners or very young children unless they're confident on wheels already. The park's open all hours, which is handy if you fancy a session at dusk or whenever works around your caravan schedule. Being free helps too, especially if you're testing whether your kids actually want to progress from their local park back home.

Located within Leicester itself, it works well as a midweek activity when you're based at Green Acres or Charnwood Acres nearby. Neither park screams 'family fun' in their descriptions, so having a reliable skate spot takes some pressure off. The concrete does get wet and slippery in rain, so timing matters - early morning tends to be better than after heavy overnight weather.

For skating families or teenagers who live on their boards, it's worth building into your Leicestershire itinerary. For everyone else, it's a capable facility but not a reason in itself to visit the area.
