Starmoor Belt

The Starmoor Belt runs like a dark ribbon across Norfolk's relatively flat landscape, just east of Fakenham. It's a proper chunk of woodland in a county where trees can feel thin on the ground, so when you find a forest this size, you walk it.

Early morning is best if you want any chance of spotting wildlife rather than just hearing the usual Norfolk birdsong. The paths can get boggy after rain - proper Norfolk boots weather - so come prepared.
