You'll find William Lane commemorated with a statue in Leicester, though it's not the sort of monument that'll stop you in your tracks. He was a notable local figure, and the statue marks his presence in the city's story - the sort of thing you pass on a walk through town and think, 'Oh, right, that's who that was.'

It's very much a Leicester thing rather than a reason to plan a trip around. That said, if you're staying at Hill Top Caravan Park or Reas Glamping Retreat - both proper good bases just five miles out - you'll stumble across it when exploring the city centre on foot. The caravan parks are the real draw - those are excellent bases for exploring Leicestershire properly - and the statue is just part of what Leicester itself has to offer as a town to potter around.
