About Target wood
For families with young kids who don't want to be marched up a Munro, this works well. The walking is manageable, shaded, and there's enough going on - birdsong, the occasional stream, decent views opening up as you gain a bit of height. Older children who can manage a couple of hours will get more from it than toddlers, though. History types won't find much here - it's about the woodland itself rather than ruins or monuments.
Bring proper boots if it's been wet, because the ground can get boggy. Allow two to three hours for a decent wander. There's no facilities that I could find, so sort your water and snacks before you set off from Crieff.
If you're staying at Loch Earn Leisure Park down the road, this makes a logical morning walk before you head to the loch itself. It's not a destination in its own right, but it fills a gap nicely in a wider Perthshire outing. Free to access - just park sensibly and don't expect signage to be brilliant.
