The Brandon Plot

For casual strollers from one of the nearby holiday parks - Cider Farm Orchard or Hidden Valley are practically on your doorstep - it makes a solid morning outing before heading into Bridport for lunch.

The reserve is free to access, though specific opening hours aren't advertised, which suggests you're welcome to wander whenever. Being a nature reserve, it's best visited during spring and early summer when migrating birds are moving through. Winter's quieter, autumn's reasonable. Bring binoculars if you're serious about birdwatching; leave your phone noise turned off.
