Steam engines and Victorian machinery fill a converted Victorian pumping station just outside Maldon - that's the Museum of Power, and it's exactly the sort of place that sounds dull until you're actually standing in front of a restored 1903 Diesel engine the size of a garden shed. The building itself is the real draw.
