Three bridges & punchboard

The three bridges at Aberystwyth aren't some grand Victorian monument - they're Victorian and older, spanning the Rheidol River where it tumbles through a steep wooded gorge just south of town. Walk down from Aberystwyth seafront, follow the river path through the trees, and you'll stumble on the bridges suddenly - the gorge drops away properly and the light through the canopy hits differently. History buffs will get a kick from the engineering; photographers will find decent angles; families with young kids might manage 45 minutes before they're keen to move on. The punchboard itself is mounted somewhere on the viaduct area - a glimpse of Victoriana that feels properly lived-in rather than museum-fussed.
