Three Ponds Wood

A proper woodland walk rather than a manicured visitor attraction, Three Ponds Wood sits just outside Petersfield and delivers exactly what it promises - three ponds surrounded by native trees and the kind of peace that's rarer than it should be. The woodland floor is soft underfoot, mostly quiet except for birdsong and the occasional rustle of something leaving your path. You won't find benches or interpretation boards here. What you get instead is the genuine article: mature oak and beech, damp clearings where you might spot dragonflies in summer, and the kind of light filtering through the canopy that makes you understand why people bother with forest bathing.

It's ideal for walkers who want to stretch their legs without dealing with crowds or climbing too steeply.
