Trwyn Dwmi / Porth y Pistyll

The clifftop walk out to Trwyn Dwmi feels properly remote, even though you're only a few miles from Pwllheli. The path takes you across rough grass and loose shale, hugging the edge where the land simply stops and gives way to the Irish Sea below. On a clear day you're staring straight out at Bardsey Island; when the weather turns moody, which it does often up here, the whole thing becomes almost theatrical.

It's a blunt kind of beauty - no gentle coves or golden beaches, just raw headland and honest views. You'll want a solid hour minimum to make the walk worthwhile, longer if you're the type to sit around and actually take it in. The going's easy enough for most people, though the final stretch is a bit exposed if you're nervous about heights. There's nothing there when you arrive - no café, no facilities - which is rather the point. Families with young children might find it a bit of a slog for what amounts to a wind-blasted viewpoint, but teenagers and serious walkers will get proper value from it.

Perfect as a half-day from any of the nearby glamping spots - Glampio Coed Glamping and Treheli Farm are close enough that you won't waste hours driving. Go early morning if you can, when the light's cleaner and you'll likely have the headland to yourself. Bring a windproof. The weather changes faster up here than you'd think possible.
