The clifftop walk up to this viewpoint near Bude is worth doing on a clear day, though I'd be honest - the view itself isn't life-changing. You get a proper sweep across the north Cornish coast, the Atlantic doing what it always does, and on a good afternoon the light's golden enough to make you forget you're stood next to a car park.

It takes about twenty minutes from the road, so it's not strenuous. Families with younger kids will manage fine, though there's not much to actually do once you're there - no cafe, no interpretation boards, just the view and the wind in your face. On a grey day, frankly, you'd be better off back at your accommodation.

The real value of this spot is how it slots into a wider walk. If you're staying at Wooda Farm Holiday Park - which is excellent, by the way - you can string together a decent coastal ramble without needing to drive about. Same goes if you're based at Atlantic Surf Pods, though that place is bit pricey for what it delivers.

Free, obviously. No opening hours because it's just land. Spring and early summer are your best bets, when the weather's reliable and you might actually see something. Winter feels properly bleak up there, which has its own appeal if you like that sort of thing, but I wouldn't plan a trip around it.
