The curved walls make for an atmospheric backdrop, though it's definitely more suited to adults than families with young children who might find the underground space a bit claustrophobic. Allowing about 30 minutes should be plenty to take in whatever's currently on display, though opening times seem to vary so it's worth checking ahead. The location works well as a quirky stop if you're staying at one of the nearby parks like Surrey Hills National Landscape or Norbury Park - it's the sort of unexpected cultural detour that adds character to a countryside break.

Whether it's worth a special trip depends entirely on what's showing, but stumbling across art in such an unconventional space certainly beats another village hall exhibition. Just don't expect the Tate Modern.
