A walk through Somerset's WWI Memorial Trees feels less like visiting an attraction and more like stumbling upon a quiet act of remembrance. These trees, planted across the forest near Holford, were put in the ground to honour those who fell in the First World War - each one a living memorial that's now towering over visitors who come through decades later.

The forest itself is the main draw. You're walking beneath canopy that's been growing for over a century, and there's something genuinely moving about that. History buffs will appreciate the backstory, but this isn't a museum with plaques on every trunk - it's more subtle than that.
