Finchale Abbey Residential & Touring Park

The shower and toilet block was lovely, very clean, warm and had lots of cubicles and showers. Personally, I didn't like the site. It felt very crowded with touring vans, wood lodges and a couple of shepherd's huts all crammed in with very little space between. I live at a lodge by the Abbey. I heard from friends that the cottage is great. From personal experience, the whole site is great.

Spent a couple of nights here in the van. Very nice peaceful site midweek with an easy cycle route into Durham which could be done on foot aswell, although it does sort of take you through the middle of the prison at one point! Fell in love once we got there. We were only going to stay Friday till Sunday but once we arrived we extended till Tuesday. What a wonderful peaceful place. Shower/toilets are very clean. They allow Dogs, which is a must for us. Good walking. Cookeden Woods is just beautiful. We had a great time and would definitely go again.
