We had a great time at Kestrel Lodge, staying on a van pitch in mid Feb. The campsite is quiet, secluded, with beautiful views of Skiddaw and the surroundings. The facilities are great - clean showers, toilets, communal washing area and honesty box shop with lots of options. Really loved all the information around the campsite with recommendations of walks, activities and the story of the site. A ...
My first time staying at Kestrel Lodge. A gorgeous campsite, very peaceful, in a brilliant location for exploring the N.Lakes easily. Excellent amenities, everything you could possibly need for a great stay (the possibility for more showers would not be unwelcome however). The owner is lovely and very welcoming, giving recommendations for dry pitch spots and hikes/pubs in the area. Pricewise i...
A wonderful stay! The owner was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The location is amazing — surrounded by beautiful walks and perfect for exploring the area. It’s quiet and peaceful, ideal for a relaxing getaway. The facilities are rustic but absolutely spotless, and it’s great to find such a genuinely dog-friendly site. Highly recommended!
Quiet, peaceful campsite. I’m new to camping so this place was perfect; rural and bare necessities done well. Came for a solo midweek to get a way from it all to destress and this 100% fit the bill. Hosts were lovely, other campers friendly and the provisions did the job. Showers hot and clean. Great location to explore the Lakes from. Highly recommend!
Lovely campsite, run by kind and caring people. Greeted on arrival and shown around. They have everything you need. There is even an honesty kitchen for pretty much anything you might have forgotten. Beautiful location, overlooking Bassenthwaite Lake, with mountains in the distance. Only 20 minutes drive to Keswick. A nice pub just down the road too.
