Adventure Parc sits just outside Llanrwst in the Conwy Valley, and it's the sort of place that appeals instantly to families who can't face another rainy afternoon in a holiday cottage. The park itself is an outdoor activity centre with a proper mix of attractions - think zip lines, high ropes courses, and various climbing challenges that genuinely test your nerve, not just your wallet. The real draw is that it keeps both adults and older kids busy for a solid three to four hours, which is rare enough to mention.

It works best for families with children aged seven upwards, and anyone who doesn't mind heights. The zip line alone is worth the visit if you're the type who gets a thrill from being suspended above the valley floor. Adults often find themselves queuing up to have a go, which says something. The ropes course is challenging without being impossible, which matters when you've got mixed abilities in the family.

If you're based at Erw Glas Glamping or Wern Farm Caravan Park - both within a few miles - this makes a solid half-day addition to a week exploring the Conwy Valley. The location is genuinely good, with decent views across the hills, though the weather in North Wales is what it is. Go on a day when it's at least not drizzling.

Admission isn't free, but day passes are reasonable for what you're getting. Book ahead during school holidays - it fills up properly.
