Arena Sports sits just outside Kettering and is the sort of place you'd take the kids when the weather turns grim and they're climbing the walls at the caravan. It's a proper indoor sports complex with the usual setup - badminton courts, squash, five-a-side pitches, that kind of thing. Nothing fancy, nothing you won't find in a dozen other leisure centres up and down the country, but it does the job if you need to burn off some energy during a holiday.

The main draw here is simply having something structured to do when the park itself isn't enough. Families staying at nearby Northfield Farm or Lakeview Caravan Park can pop over in the car and book a court or pitch for an hour or two. It's genuinely useful rather than spectacular - think functional rather than destination-worthy. Teenagers and active families will find it handy; if you're after days out that feel like proper excursions, you might do better exploring Kettering's town centre or heading toward Rockingham Forest for a walk.

I'd ring ahead before you visit to check current opening times and what's actually running that day - leisure centre schedules can be patchy outside term-time. It's the sort of facility that fills a gap rather than defines a holiday, but when you need it, you'll be grateful it's there.
