Beezley Falls

The waterfall appears suddenly as you round the bend in Beezley village - a proper cascade of white water tumbling over moss-covered stone, the kind of thing that makes you forget to keep walking for a minute. It's not enormous, but it's genuinely lovely, and the fact that it's accessible from the road without a gruelling hike means families with younger kids actually stand a chance of seeing it without complaints halfway through.

You can park near Carnforth, a short drive away, and be there in minutes. The falls themselves sit in a tight wooded gorge, so bring a waterproof if it's been raining - the spray's real and the rocks are slippery. Most people spend twenty minutes here, snapping photos and letting the kids chuck stones into the pool below. It's a tick-box sort of place, but a good one.

If you're based at one of the nearby campsite options - Primrose Glamping Pods or Philpin Farm are both just a couple of miles away - this works nicely as a break from setup or an after-dinner wander. The Dalesbridge and Orcaber Farm sites are only slightly further, so it's accessible from any of them. Free admission and no faffing about with car parks or entry fees make it feel refreshingly uncomplicated. Perfect for a quick moorland afternoon when the weather's not playing ball, or as a warmup before tackling somewhere bigger.
