The woodland floor at Blunts Wood is thick with leaf litter and the smell of damp earth - proper forest territory just outside Haywards Heath. Kids might enjoy hunting for wood creatures and scrambling over fallen logs, but there's no playground or facilities, so they'll need proper entertaining elsewhere. There's no entrance fee that I'm aware of, and you can access it reasonably freely, though parking is limited nearby. If you're camping at Wild Boar Wood just down the road, it's a solid evening walk to stretch your legs without driving anywhere. It pairs well with other local green spaces if you're doing a proper woods tour of the area. Worth a detour if you're in Haywards Heath with time to kill, but don't rearrange your week for it - it's the kind of spot that works best as a bonus rather than a destination.
