Paul Reay's Body Blitz Boot Camp is a no-nonsense fitness facility near Stanley where you go to work, not to lounge about in the café. This is a proper training ground - functional fitness, high-intensity circuits, and the kind of coaching that'll leave you genuinely knackered but knowing you've earned it.

You'll find CrossFit-style equipment, heavy weights, and plenty of space for group sessions. The vibe is serious without being intimidating, which matters if you're not already a gym regular. Classes run throughout the day, so whether you're an early riser or prefer evening sessions, there's usually something on. The coaches actually know what they're doing and will fix your form rather than let you thrash about pointlessly.

It's brilliant for anyone wanting proper training rather than an Instagram-friendly gym experience. Families staying at Beamish Holiday Park or Beamish Glamping nearby - both under four miles away - could easily pop in if there's someone keen on fitness in the group. Obviously not an attraction for a relaxing holiday, but worth the detour if you're serious about workouts.
