Standing on this elevated spot above Swansea Bay, you get sweeping views across the water that make the climb worthwhile. The name might sound daft, but Bucketland delivers proper panoramic vistas that take in the city sprawl below and the Welsh coastline stretching into the distance.

Walkers will appreciate this as a decent stopping point, though it's not going to occupy you for more than twenty minutes unless you're planning a picnic. Families might find the kids lose interest quickly - there's not much here beyond the view itself. Photography enthusiasts, however, will find plenty to work with, especially during golden hour when the light catches the bay just right.

The viewpoint sits conveniently close to several holiday parks along this stretch of the Gower Peninsula. Three Cliffs Bay Holiday Park is less than two miles away, making this an easy evening stroll for guests staying there. Those at Nicholaston Farm or any of the other nearby sites can easily incorporate Bucketland into a longer coastal walk.

Best visited on a clear day, obviously - though even with some cloud cover, the elevated position gives you a good sense of the local geography. It's free to access and you can visit any time, making it a flexible addition to your Gower explorations rather than a destination in its own right.
