Canon Frome Court sits a few miles south of Hereford, a proper Tudor manor that quietly commands attention without any fuss. It's still a private residence, which means you won't be tramping through reception halls or gift shops - this is the real thing, occupied and lived-in.

Hereford sits close by, so Canon Frome works as a half-morning detour if you're based at one of the nearby caravan parks - The Millpond or the Hereford Camping and Caravanning Club Site are both within a couple of miles. Neither will take up much time, but it's the sort of quiet countryside stop that breaks up a park holiday nicely. Don't expect opening times or organised visits; this is a case of admiring from the lane and the immediate surroundings. Family groups might find it a bit static - kids need hands-on things - but walkers and history types will appreciate the authenticity. Go on a clear day when the light catches the timber properly.
