Coed Bryndansi

Standing at 416 metres, this modest summit sits quietly above the A55 between Abergele and the coast, overlooking the Vale of Clwyd. The walk up through mixed woodland and moorland takes about 45 minutes from the nearest parking spot, following fairly decent paths that can get muddy after rain.

From the top, you get proper views across to Snowdonia on clear days, with the Irish Sea stretching out to the north. It's not the most dramatic peak in North Wales, but there's something satisfying about having a small mountain practically to yourself. The summit itself is marked by a modest cairn and offers a good spot for lunch if you've brought a flask.

Walkers looking for a half-day outing will find this fits the bill perfectly. Families with older children who are used to hillwalking should manage it fine, though the terrain gets rougher higher up. Dog owners love it here - plenty of space to roam and no sheep worries on the upper slopes.
