Coed y Gofer

The forest tracks around Coed y Gofer offer proper woodland walking just inland from Borth, that quiet coastal town where the beach eventually runs out of tourists. It's a working forest rather than some manicured country estate - you'll see the working tracks and the evidence of forestry management alongside the older established trees. Good for stretching legs without needing to commit to hours of serious hiking.

Walkers will find the paths manageable and quiet, particularly out of school holidays. The woodland itself isn't dramatic or unusual - no waterfall finale or viewpoint revelation - but that's rather the appeal if you want to escape the honeypot attractions. Families with younger kids can manage sections without drama, though buggies won't work on the rougher track routes. The whole experience takes anywhere from forty minutes to two hours depending on which paths you pick and how often you stop.

It sits well within a caravan park holiday based around Borth. Searivers and Cambrian Coast Holiday Park are both within three miles, so easily managed before breakfast or as an afternoon push-out. The town itself has the beach for the inevitable end-of-day wind-down, which breaks up the forest routine nicely.
