Coombe Valley Local Nature Reserve

The Coombe Valley Local Nature Reserve sits just outside Dawlish, a proper slice of Devon woodland that punches above its weight. You get a mix of riverside walks, ancient trees, and enough wildlife-spotting potential to keep both casual strollers and keen birders content for a solid couple of hours.

The reserve follows the Coombe stream through a wooded valley - it's the sort of place where you'll spot woodland birds, maybe a buzzard or two, and the water itself is genuinely clean and clear.
