The woodland floor's soft underfoot, and the canopy's thick enough that it feels properly green rather than just a collection of trees. You're looking at anything from an hour's casual amble to a couple of hours if you explore the fuller routes, depending on fitness and how often you stop to breathe it all in.

It's ideal for walkers and families who'd rather not be corralled along manicured paths with interpretation boards at every turn. Kids won't get bored if they're the outdoorsy type - there's enough rustling undergrowth and fallen logs to keep them occupied. That said, there's not much in the way of facilities, so come prepared.
