Four Acre Wood sits just outside Tenterden and is exactly what its name promises - a proper bit of forest you can actually walk through without paying a fortune or booking ahead. It's the kind of place that works brilliantly if you're staying at one of the nearby glamping sites like Wheatfields, especially with restless kids or dogs in tow.

The woodland itself is straightforward. You get trees, paths, and enough space to burn off some energy without feeling like you're on a theme park trail. There's nothing flashy about it - no visitor centre, no interpretation boards, no cafes - which honestly is quite refreshing. Just woodland as it should be. The paths are reasonably clear, though muddy patches appear fast after rain, so decent footwear matters.
