Friends' Meeting House

The Quaker Meeting House in Dronfield is a proper slice of religious nonconformity - one of those quiet, unassuming buildings that tells you far more about English dissent than any flashy cathedral ever could. Built in the 18th century, it's a working place of worship for the Society of Friends, and stepping inside feels like entering a room where very little has changed in two hundred years. This isn't a place for quick tick-boxes. You'll get the most from it if you actually sit for a bit, or time your visit when a meeting is happening - which they still hold regularly.
