The exposed brick and high ceilings mean it doesn't feel cramped, and there's something quite satisfying about watching someone at a pottery wheel or lathe while you're meant to be on holiday.

It's not a massive time commitment. An hour's browse will cover it, longer if you chat with the makers or fancy a cup of tea. The studios are often open during the week, though hours vary depending on who's in, so ring ahead or check social media before you trek over. Families with kids interested in craft work will get more from it than those just after a quick tourist tick-box, and it's the kind of place where you might actually buy something rather than just take photos.

If you're staying at Bright Meadow Caravan Park, it's barely ten minutes up the road, making it a decent rainy-day option or a way to break up the standard park routine. Not life-changing, but Diss is a solid enough market town base for East Anglia, and this adds a bit of character to the visit. The crafts themselves are usually of decent quality - not mass-produced tat.
